WHO IS PMA?

PMA is your local Graphic Communications Association

Established in 1906, Print Media Association is a St. Louis, Missouri based, non-profit trade association catering specifically to the graphic communications industry. Our network of printing industry associations located across the nation represents one of the most extensive graphic communications association groups globally. We support an industry with approximately one million employees and serve the interests of thousands of member companies. We deliver products and services designed to enhance the growth, efficiency, and profitability of our members and the industry through advocacy, education, research, technical information, business management tools, and cost-saving resources.

Membership is simple month-to-month.  NO contracts.  NO commitments. Membership dues are based on company classification and membership type:

  • Active Members – Printers, digital, lithographic, flexographic, etc., production operations that perform printing and imaging services. Dues are based on sales volume.

  • Associate Members – Companies that provide a service to our industry such as advertising agencies, graphic designers, finishers, paper manufacturers, etc. Dues are a flat annual fee.

We understand the financial challenges that many businesses face today, so we work with members on their dues to help make membership fit within their budget. Our mission is to assist our members and provide value first and foremost.

In today's competitive environment, it makes good business sense to have a partner and ally like PMA by your side. And, as a member, you belong to an organization dedicated to supporting and enhancing the graphic communications industry.

Our History

How It All Began

In 1906, a small group of St. Louis printers banded together to combat the difficult problem of growing costs. Little did they realize that their turn-of-the-century efforts at increasing profitability would result in a vibrant organization providing an array of exceptional cost-saving, educational and support programs.

What We Have Evolved to

As needs have changed over the years, so have PMA’s programs. An apprenticeship program was established in 1913, followed by group insurance in the early 1960s. As time has progressed, we have added a Waste Paper/Recycling Program, the Printers’ 401K Program, Insurance and Employee Benefits products and services, a discounted logistics program, group purchasing power program and much more. However, one thing has never changed . . . our unwavering dedication to ethical business practices and excellence in printing, graphic communications and related services, all designed to advance members’ opportunities for growth and profitability.
